Cloud computing as a new technology, has attracted worldwide attention and a large number of cloud computing data centers are being constructed worldwide. According to the Gartner report, the global cloud computing market will reach $411 billion by 2020. CAGR of global infrastructure as a service (IaaS) revenue reaches 23.31%, more than the overall market growth of 13.38%. Revenue from software as a service (SaaS) is expected to grow above $99 billion.
Every coin has two sides. Cloud computing as an advanced IT technology, cannot solve all the problems in the field of IT, and it will bring new problems, which is the inevitable process of technological evolution. Cloud computing provides ubiquitous network access for users, which will bring huge risks. From the traditional security perspective, cloud computing is difficult to realize because the volume of computing is very large and the computing is dynamic with a lot of fast moving components. However, compared to servers, applications and data, cloud security can benefit from scalability and agility. Users only need to actively ensure cloud solutions, minimize risks, and do not need to reduce productivity.
Security issues have raised increasing concern by the industry, and network security construction is synchronized with the development of cloud computing. On October 20th, China Unicom and Alibaba announced joint research and development of SDN network architecture based on cloud computing, to further enhance the efficiency of Unicom network. They will also carry out in-depth cooperation in improving network security and operation capability, co-building a network security platform.
Every technology needs a long period to develop and so does cloud computing. At present, cloud computing only offered us limited benefit while facing challenges in terms of technology and application, but the future for the cloud computing is still promising.
